At makkipak we have created an eco space for our workers to unwind and allow nature to take hold of the space surrounding our building. It’s also a good spot for Toby (our canine co-worker) to take a break. Hundreds of butterflies are attracted to the Buddleia trees, Goldfinches nest in the trees and the occasional rabbit or hedgehog will make an appearance from the thick hedgerows. Our Makkipak Eco Space is a very peaceful spot set in the middle of our industrial estate, an eco space that has become a sanctuary for wildlife.
From July to October the long line of blackberry bushes that border our premises will be full of fruit. Ash trees have been allowed to grow and spread along the side of the building which are home to the local Wood Pigeons.
Our local landscape gardeners will trim the grass but apart from that we have allowed this area to to grow, making it an untouched and protected area for our local wildlife.
